Ardbeg Perpetuum Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Officially founded in 1815 built on the site of an earlier illicit still. Location Islay, South Shore region. Water Source Loch Uigeadail.
Deep amber color. Mellow, rich and enticing, tar, soot and pine resin. Leading into dark chocolate, treacle toffee, coffee grinds and a distant, nutty/ oaky note. Intense, robust peat smoke, savory smoky bacon, cinnamon and nutmeg, and an incredible creamy, sweet vanilla/milk chocolate note that soothes the palate. The never-ending aftertaste sees more linseed oil (a hint of the Sherry Casks in the recipe). Some creosote and tar, but understated, and always gentle.
