Similar in appearance, the 2021 Chardonnay EGW (Extra Good White) takes on a touch more flinty reduction, with a great balance of ripeness and tension in its notes of ripe peach, lemon zest, and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, it has a beautiful waxy texture but the acidity to cleanse the palate. Citrus oils, almond, and more mouthwatering freshness can be found on its long finish along with a lacy note of custard. Drink 2024-2034. (Sep 2023).

The 2021 Chardonnay EGW lifts with a savory blend of crushed peaches, freshly clipped mint and hints of wet stone. Opening with a pretty inner sweetness, this displays a lovely balance of ripe orchard fruits and savory minerals, all propelled by stimulating acidity and a hint of sour citrus. Long and potent, the EGW finishes with an herbal tinge, leaving a pleasant bitterness on the mid-palate. A blend of Dijon and Original 108 Wente clones from the Chehalem Mountain vineyard.
